Can anyone recommend a good baby led weaning schedule, with amounts etc? I’ve done this all once before but it was 4 years ago and I seem to have forgotten it all.

Thanks!

If you're on FB join the baby led weaning UK group.

I have a friend who has done baby led weaning and loved it - but I think ‘baby led’ is the key phrase. I didn’t think ‘schedules’ and ‘amounts’ were really involved. Babies just eat how and as much as the want or don’t want, and you’ve got to be patient with it (I’m not that patient, so it didn’t work for us.)

Get the baby led weaning app. It's brilliant. I still use the fussy toddler one. It has a plan for when you're just starting.

I thought the point was its baby led so no schedule

Just start by giving them bits of whatever veg you're having, cut into batons and cooked a bit longer. Once they've got the hang of it and they're over 6 months gradually introduce dairy, meat or fish (eg fishcakes) grains (eg bits of toast, soft cooked pasta spirals, porridge fingers) egg (eg strips of omlette) and pulses eg hummus. Start on one meal a day at 6 months and gradually work up to 3 meals and 2 snacks at 12 months, so add something extra every few weeks

Annabel Karmel has a baby led weaning book out. Personally never done it so I can’t give more info then that.

Most of it ends up on the floor. The only thing you need is a plastic sheet to go under high chair and some food.

Just don’t expect any nutritional benefit initially...
