Present for 10 year old girl

This is not really an AIBU, but I’m not sure what section to post this in.

DD is 10 next Thursday and I haven’t got her a present yet. I’m desperate for ideas. She has a bike and a scooter, an old iPad from big sister, and there isn’t anything she desperately needs/wants.
I would like to get something special as she’s going into double numbers. Any ideas?

What about tickets to see a singer she likes if she’s in to music?

Or more of an experience than a physical thing, e.g. a course of riding lessons or whatever she’s interested in but never had the chance to do.

Tickets to something she will enjoy. Just for you and her, no sibling. Take her out for a day, just the two of you

AngelOfDeathNix · 17/08/2019 21:41

Camera?

DifficultSituation19 · 17/08/2019 21:42

Or is she in to fashion yet? My dd who is 9 was thrilled with a ‘grown up’ shopping trip for her latest birthday in the nearest city. Give her her budget and let her loose! You could take her out to eat somewhere nice too and maybe even a hotel?

TregunaMekoides · 17/08/2019 21:44

Does she like Harry Potter? There's all manner of merch you can throw money at. Trip to the studios even?

DifficultSituation19 · 17/08/2019 21:45

Camera is a good idea, mine both have the instax (Polaroid type) cameras, and they love them. Very in with the youtubers apparently!

TeacherDeMFL · 17/08/2019 21:45

Gift cards? Maybe some Spanish textbooks Grin

thaegumathteth · 17/08/2019 21:49

I’d go for an experience too - eg concert tickets or young driver experience or something?

Dd is turning 9 so a bit younger but is getting primark vouchers (she thinks primark is incredible Hmm ), tickets to a dance show, a torch for camping, horse riding stuff and make up (she just plays with it and isn’t allowed it on on a normal day)

My daughter was seven a few weeks a go. She has loads of stuff and didn't want or need anything else. Instead I bought her 4 small gifts (polly pockets etc) and threw a kick ass party. We hired a hot tub and gazebo she had tipped tents for her and her friends. I did a buffet we had a chocolate fountain

Mucky1 · 17/08/2019 22:02

Posted to soon. Chocolate fountain kareoke Jewellery making, face masks a move, pop corn all matching pjs etc. All her friends are still talking about it and she loved it. A really fun day was so much better then more stuff.

A personalised locket? I got one each for my two DD www.hurleyburley.com - you can have them inscribed on both sides.

Proseccoinamug · 17/08/2019 23:20

Definitely tickets to something just you and her.

Dd10 wants a netbook for school work and a flicker scooter. She’d also like a rabbit but that’s not happening. She’s v keen to go to Harry Potter studios.

Birdy65 · 18/08/2019 08:43

Great, thank you. Love the idea regarding tickets, so will look into that today.

My friend took my daughter to have her nails done and for lunch for her 10th birthday a couple of months ago. She loved that.

We had friends round on the day and they did face masks, ate popcorn, had a chocolate fountain and a bonfire in the evening with s’mores and sparklers.
