And. Any particular model you would recommend?

Sadly John Lewis is no longer what it was-have had such poor service and very long lead times-

ao.com all day every day-brilliant , transparent and so helpful

BarbaraofSeville · 17/08/2019 22:13

Friend had awful service from John Lewis and we've had great service from curry's, also cheaper without messing around with price matching.

I bought this AEG machine a few weeks ago and am very happy with it.

PancakeAndKeith · 17/08/2019 22:24

If you are at work who will be there to take delivery?

OhioOhioOhio · 17/08/2019 22:29

A child minder.

I have a Bosh, John Lewis installed it and took away the old machine.
Great service.

Rhubardandcustard · 17/08/2019 22:31

I always go local, we have a couple of smaller electrical shops that far exceed JL and co on service, free delivery and installation normally too. See if you have any small local businesses that would love your support- mine are always very competitive on price too.

Henlie · 17/08/2019 22:34

We also bought from a local electrical shop. Miele machine. Excellent service all round

I did know know the Boots sold appliances

I've just ordered a tumble dryer from AO .
I could've got a millionty Boots Points .
Arse!

SunshineDays2019 · 17/08/2019 22:40

I recommend the Samsung eco bubble, it's a great mid range machine, and suggest you go to a local independent retailer. Prices are not necessarily higher and customer service is usually good. Plus it's nice to support local businesses!

RocketRacoonsFurryBalls · 17/08/2019 22:44

John Lewis.

Bosch with Quiet mark. They added the extra bit of hose needed as well.

EugenesAxe · 17/08/2019 22:47

I’ve bought two appliances with AO.com and found their service brilliant. Loads quicker and cheaper than John Lewis for the model of fridge we wanted. Check for voucher codes.

Recently our Hotpoint washing machine died aged about 10 (not bad; I had to replace the door catch twice though) and I invested in a basic model Miele; expensive but so far I’ve seen fantastic results.

I agree about installation; I did the Miele myself. It’s an easy earner for AO if you really don’t think you can follow a manual; alternatively have you any vaguely practical friends who could help?

WalkAwaySugarbear · 17/08/2019 22:55

We've just bought the zanussi 10kg machine from AO. Great service from them, be prepared for the up sell phone call the day before delivery though for extra warranty. We paid for collection of old machine but installed ourselves took about 20 mins.
If you're using google chrome to order from I'd recommend downloading honey app chrome extension, it does a search for voucher codes and adds them before you buy. We got a £20 discount from that and some quidco cashback too.

TeamUnicorn · 17/08/2019 23:00

The local Euronics dealer. Always had great service from ours.

Namechangenecessity · 17/08/2019 23:01

AO did mine last week, delivered , fitted and old one taken away, lovely chaps.

Kwackerly · 17/08/2019 23:01

AO! They were excellent, and also very cheap. Google for a discount code before you buy!

Katr673 · 17/08/2019 23:03

I have a miele, expensive but love it. Have used John Lewis and boots for appliances. Had great service with both, however with boots you do get points to spend and found the prices quite competitive.

Mittler · 17/08/2019 23:06

John Lewis and bottom of the range Bosch. I didn't pay them to install the Bosch as I can do that sort of thing myself without paying anyone £25, but the JL chap was very sweet and told me what to do, just in case I didn't know.

OhioOhioOhio · 17/08/2019 23:19

If the washing is stuck in my old machine will thru be able to take it out?

Saracen · 17/08/2019 23:28

"Which?", the consumer magazine, says that John Lewis is among the highest rated for customer service.

I was very impressed with them. I arranged delivery for 24 December, thinking it would never actually happen, but it arrived on the day. My machine had a small problem - the filter wouldn't screw in properly - and I rang up straightaway, expecting to be told they'd send me a replacement filter in a few weeks. They sent it immediately (Christmas eve afternoon) and it arrived on 27 December.

TateWorm · 17/08/2019 23:47

Another vote for Boots Kitchen Appliances. It's AO that runs it and you get the points too.

Jarstastic · 17/08/2019 23:56

No longer John Lewis for me as last tome they wouldn’t plumb in because my washing machine drainage is shared with my sink. They basically left my old washing machine and refunded what I’d paid for fitted in but said they’d come back for old machine once I’d had someone else fit my new machine. So I had to pay for a plumber to come (who just fitted into existing piping) then call John Lewis to rearrange collection of old machine. Most inconvenient.

I would also recommend local Euronics shop.

And if you are in west London or west I’ve heard good things about Moseley appliances.
