To think we're too skint to pay hundreds on a hypnobirthing course?

Had booked on a course through One to One Midwives, turned up to it this morning and they'd been closed down. As I don't know if we'll get that money back I don't want to pay another £100+ for a private course (only option available as we're now extremely limited on time). Anyone used Hypnobirthing on a budget and can recommend a website or something? Thank you!

I read loads of books at the library and watched YouTube videos to learn basics of hypnobirthing and breathing for relaxation.
I took a mixture of things that worked for me. I couldn’t do the whole “imagine a flower opening” type thing. But it really did help me to stay focussed and calmer which is always a good thing whether your birth goes to plan or not.

I never paid for a class.

I read Sophie Fletcher’s Mindful Hypnobirthing & did YouTube videos of pregnancy yoga.
This got me through both normal & back to back home births without a pain relief.

It doesn’t hide the pain but it allows you to control how the pain will affect you.
I also had a squeezy dinosaur for the breathing to focus on that.

I did one of the CDs. I found it strangely hard to concentrate on even though I practiced every day. Didn't make any difference to my labour or birth at all and afterwards I wished that I'd spent the time just enjoying my last pre baby days more

I could have paid hundreds on hypnobirthing and making birthing plans and all that jazz.

When it came to it, I needed induced and then 2 hours later, I needed an emergency section.

Look into all free options. Good luck.

We just attended hypnobirth classes through NHS and honestly the information ive already found online was more helpful. I especially enjoy the tracey holloway hypnobirth relaxation and have found plenty of inspiration for positive affirmations that work for me on google. Even just training yourself to think "when I feel my body tightening I know it is good" etc to try break the pain=bad idea as in labour pain or surges are productive and necessary. Good luck!
