To leave sick under the swings?!

At the local park with 4 DC. DC1 suddenly projectile vomits while on the swing. No idea what happened, she says she feels fine and hadn't just eaten a big meal or anything. I've rung the council phone number that is on the sign, he says it's not an emergency so can't call anyone out at the weekend and to just leave it. I have 4 under 5 with me and no way of cleaning it but feel very unreasonable just leaving it. What should I do?!

Really nothing you can do I think - I’m sure people will notice it and avoid. Don’t feel bad.

PumpkinP · 17/08/2019 13:45

Get a bottle of water and wash it away? I would feel bad leaving it aswell but if no shops and you don’t live close(?) then nothing
You can do

It's just disgusting though isn't it. There is one other lady here but I don't think she speaks english, I tried explaining that I have rung and they said to leave it but she just looked at me 😂

It's a good 20 minute walk to home or a shop and I just don't think I can manage doing that 3 more times with baby in sling, double buggy and possibly a vomiting child. We had a bottle of water with us but it's been drunk.

I would knock at the nearest house and ask for a bucket with disinfectant and chuck it at the area.

Barbarafromblackpool · 17/08/2019 13:52

Any sand or soil you can put on it?

Cornettoninja · 17/08/2019 13:53

There’s not much you can do really is there? You could maybe try and cover it with a bit of dirt to help soak it up but then that makes it harder to spot...... is there a grave yard anywhere near? Sometimes they’ll have taps so people can leave their flowers with some water. Have to admit I probably wouldn’t go massively out of my way though.

sawyersfishbiscuits · 17/08/2019 13:53

Wet wipes, leaves, sand...? I think I'd absolutely have to attempt something. Or if OH/friend would drive over with a big bottle of water to swoosh it away?

Pipandmum · 17/08/2019 13:55

Stop stressing and leave it. Surely not the first time and what else can you do?

Floralnomad · 17/08/2019 14:00

If you have a baby with you do you not have a nappy or wipes that you could at least make an effort to clean it .

eddiemairswife · 17/08/2019 14:10

Pray for heavy rain!

sheshootssheimplores · 17/08/2019 14:11

Covering it up with dirt is a good idea. Or sand if there’s a sandpit.

On the plus side your son has potentially provided food for all different animals so try and think positive 🤭

Rachelover40 · 17/08/2019 14:11

Don't do anything, that sort of thing happens a lot in parks with swings. You can hardly scoop it up with your hands! Forget it, go somewhere else.

gollygoodnessgraciousme · 17/08/2019 14:28

Sorry I had to walk home. We were all getting stressed out. No soil or sand nearby. I did try using the handful of wipes I had with me but didn't make much difference. Let's hope for some more rain... she says after complaining about the rain for weeks!

Not much you can do. I understand how you feel though. Out of nowhere I once had to have an uber pull over so i could jump out, just in time, but let loose on someone's front yard. Felt very sorry, but what can you do sometimes? I hadn't been drinking or feeling ill. Think it was a result of the heat maybe? Idk.
