To be annoyed at my dog

So, I’ve had a typical busy mum day today. Off out with toddler, lots of activities and tantrums. Then chores tonight until about 10pm (including walking miss cheekypaws!)

Anyway, this morning miss DDog stood staring at her bowl when I woke up, so I fed her, thinking she hadn’t been fed by DH. Spoke to DH at work and he confirmed he had fed her.

Her dog walker came to walk her and she refused to budge, lying upside down and being a right drama queen. As it was raining we let her off for the one day. At tea time I took her for a walk.

Then, when I finally sat down at 10pm she decided it was playtime!!! Stood staring at me making crying noises until I played. Every time I started to sit again the crying restarted.

Finally decided that’s it I’m off to bed. While I was in the loo she decided just to steal my bed! She was most indignant when I put her back to her own bed.

She’s in her own bed in a cream puff now lol

You do realise she's going to be staring at her bowl every morning from now on.

She's clearly decided that you're a complete and utter walkover - stare at my bowl I get extra food, roll on my back, don't have to go out in the rain, have a good cry get extra playtime. Are you seeing a pattern here?

Before you know it she'll be the one turfing you off your own bed and you'll be sleeping in the dog bed. Grin

I am a complete sap for her. She never does things like this to DH. I feel a bit guilty as she doesn’t get the same attention as she did pre DS being born. It was twice daily 4 mile walks back then

Pets always seem like such a nice idea.

We never consider this scenario though do we? My sweet, lovely cat regularly gets told to "f**k off" on such days, poor thing!

pigsDOfly · 16/08/2019 23:29

Oooh, just seen her photo.

Definitely looks like a bit of a madam.

Dylaninthemovies1 · 16/08/2019 23:30

We’ve had her since being a tiny pup: she’s 9 now. Usually well behaved, but just trying her luck today.

She likes to sit on her throne and observe all goings on in the street.

They do wrap us round their paws, don't they?

My dog will stand beside me sometimes whimpering while I'm getting her food ready.

Why? Food is provided twice a day regularly. She knows it's on its way and I'm pretty sure she's not so hungry that she has to whimper for it.

HaileySherman · 16/08/2019 23:35

Totally unreasonable Smile give that pup whatever she wants!

pigsDOfly · 16/08/2019 23:39

She's very beautiful Dylan. Love the pose.

Mrsmurrayposh · 16/08/2019 23:39

She's beautiful. Not surprised she's allowed to get her own way (just this once) Winkx

joystir59 · 16/08/2019 23:58

She is lovely. Our dog plays us off against each other for extra food too.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 17/08/2019 00:09

My dog has recently decided that 11pm is playtime, she stands at her toy box giving me the death stare until I give in, I just can’t say no she is the cutest dog in the world and she is getting old now so I pretty much give in to every single demand!

TooManyPups · 17/08/2019 00:13

We have been moving house today and both my dogs decided today was the day to be absolute monsters and drive me up the wall... Along with my normally angelic 2.5yr old ds deciding today was absolute melt down day... 12yr old who is normally the monster of the house has handled today better than the rest of us lol (mainly because the move means she no longer has to share a bedroom with 9yr old dd I think lol).. Jeez it's been a long day.

DogHasEatenTheSqueaker · 17/08/2019 00:18

I want to go to bed, but am currently pinned to the sofa under the (not insubstantial) weight of two sausage dogs.

Should turf them off, but they're SO cute and fluffy and lovely and squishy (now that they're asleep...)

C0untDucku1a · 17/08/2019 00:22

My cats litter tray had wee in it this evening so she pood on the rug next to it. Dirty protest. Hmm

Cherrysoup · 17/08/2019 00:25

One of mine always gets his second wind after he's been fed in the evening. Invariably, this coincides with us sitting down to eat dinner. He takes a squeaky ball and lies on his bed squeaking it until we pay him attention. My DH will invite him for cuddles, so he deliberately jumps on me. Yesterday,he scooted across the landing and left a brown streak. Then he rolled round like a lunatic, biting the air. He especially likes to have mad moments and rub his face on the coir mat at the front door. He's hilarious!

Dylaninthemovies1 · 17/08/2019 06:46

@Cherrysoup. The dreaded brown streak!

I woke up during the night and there beside my head, was cheekypaws curled up on my pillow. She also woke me at 530 to let her up for a pee. On a Saturday

Cheeky monkey

twoheaped · 17/08/2019 10:11

Grin her back legs in that first photo!

RandomMess · 17/08/2019 10:30

We have system for feeding for this exact reason Grin her food for the day is weighed into her tub, half for breakfast given.

You can then check if the daily run has good in it you know she's been fed!!

It has gone wrong on occasion when we have forgotten to give her supper though Blush

Dylaninthemovies1 · 17/08/2019 11:21

@RandomMess. That’s an idea

My little girl is currently feeling very sorry for herself. She was spayed on Thursday. Had to have a special anaesthetic as when she went in the first time it wouldn't knock her out. Then overnight Thursday into Friday she managed to dislodge some stitches. So she was back under yesterday to be re-stitched. She is in the cone of shame and NOT impressed.
