To ask for help with these symptoms...tremors only at night

Recently(in the last week) I have been been experiencing tremors as I'm going to sleep, jerking awake and shouting out. I was checked out at A and E last week as I also had chest pain but cardiograph, blood tests and blood pressure were all fine. Popped back to doctors on monday as it was still happening and arranged for more blood tests as she said I may have low magnesium or b12. But I am now scared to go to sleep, it literally makes me sit up in bed with a sharp intake of breath multiple times a night, any ideas what it could be...its very frightening!

You’re probably not going to like my answer very much but it really does sound like anxiety.

I suppose it could be something like low blood sugar/start of type two diabetes what with the shaking but the calling out/shouting doesn’t really fit.

It honestly sounds like you are part falling asleep, experiencing anxiety and then shaking/shouting and waking yourself which is then magnifying the anxiety even more and the cycle repeats.

I had exactly this last year (and still get it intermittently) and unfortunately it's 100% anxiety. It's truly horrific and I have so much sympathy for you! The only thing that helped me was time and CBT.

Thankyou for the replies, I suppose it's good that it only probably anxiety as I am quite a stressy person but its pretty horrendous to experience

I get this a bit though not to the extent of jumping up and shouting out, I get the tremors and jerks. Try googling benign fasciculation syndrome.

I have it on and off. Have done for years. Mine is a part of who I am, and anxiety. It's exacerbated by lack of sleep, caffeine and stress. It's horrible OP but harmless. Obviously take your GPs advice though.

Thankyou both, I feel a bit better about it now and I will have a look Tabbystar
