To have no idea what to buy a female relative

For their 60th? Close relative. Doesn't like spa type treatments. I'm really struggling to find anything personal and/or useful.

Yeah ... Some of you are weird.

Bog standard chocolates? Biscuits? For a close relative’s significant birthday?

And I don’t know anyone of my own age who doesn’t already own and use all the tech they could possibly require. (Fine if the giftee has dropped into conversation that she dropped her beloved device over the edge of a cliff last weekend ...)

Ditto magazine subscriptions.

OP £50 to £100 is a decent amount? What does your relative like?

QuaterMiss · 16/08/2019 10:49

(Ignore rogue ‘?’.)

rideawhiteswan · 16/08/2019 10:59

I'm around that age and things I've bought myself recently that id have loved as gifts are amazon echo, fitbit alta hr, audible subscription.
I'd also like a cashmere jumper in a stylish design and colour. I also have my eye on the folding ray ban sunglasses.

Also agree 100% with @QuaterMiss
Definitely no 'granny' stuff

Alsohuman · 16/08/2019 11:46

No granny stuff. And no card with a number on it.

My bloke bought me an original painting for my 60th. My son bought me a very stylish watch. I look at both numerous times every day.

ravenshope · 16/08/2019 11:46

I wouldn't buy or want cashmere due to the cruelty to the goats in the industry.
Do you know this person's interests and likes?

Shock horror, someone buying something they know someone will love rather than what some random on the internet thinks.

TheBlessedCheesemaker · 17/08/2019 06:26

A citrus tree or similar, in a beautiful pot so that she can place it wherever she wants.

LellyMcKelly · 17/08/2019 06:38

What perfume does she wear? How about stuff from the same range - the shower gel and body lotion, for example? An Amazon Prime subscription, shoes (if you know her well enough), a lamp, a jewellery box, booze.

AwdBovril · 17/08/2019 06:46

Does she particularly feel the cold? I do & I have one of these tweed throws, which I use as a lap blanket in winter. Am not yet 40, BTW.
