I gave my neighbor a lift home. All good, i went home. She call, ask if she forgot her iPhone on my car. Nope. Later in the evening, she send me a photo of smashed phone in driveway, apparently she dropped it as she went out of car and i drove over it. She say i ruined it. Am i responsible?

She dropped it and then called you to ask if she'd left it in your car? That's odd, hadn't she realised she'd dropped it?

Lucky then that she already has another phone she can use to call you and send photos.

Cassilis · 15/08/2019 14:38

She’s deflecting on to her DH. No more lifts for her.

LegoPiecesEverywhere · 15/08/2019 14:41

No not your fault at all

AnneLovesGilbert · 15/08/2019 14:51

Wow. No good deed and all that!

cheesydoesit · 15/08/2019 14:51

What a horrible pair they are, trying their luck. No more lifts or favours for her.

SilverySurfer · 15/08/2019 14:54

You've hit the jackpot OP, 100% YANBU. At least she has admitted it's her fault.

AtrociousCircumstance · 15/08/2019 14:56

You don’t know her very well, and I assume you won’t be getting to know her better after that!

SofaSurfer1 · 15/08/2019 15:04

I see her last comment as she is under her dh thumb. Not cf or evil or mean. But worn down mentally. I will offer her lifts again. And make sure she has all her stuff when she leaves my car Grin

I once dropped my Motorola clamshell which I loved, after getting out of my friends mini when she dropped me off after Zumba. It wasn't until a little while later I realised it was missing, and thought I'd left it at the hall. But, just to be sure, I rang it whilst walking around the house. It wasn't until I was upstairs, in the bathroom which is near the road, that I could hear the distant ringtone of my phone outside. I went outside, and there it was, screen smashed in the gutter, ringing away. It may have been my friends car that ran it over, but in no way would I or did I blame her. Totally my fault.

I did love that phone, even though the camera was rubbish. I just liked how it felt in my pocket Grin

Em308 · 15/08/2019 15:15

Did she use a different phone to take the picture of the smashed phone and text said picture to you?

GreenwoodLane · 15/08/2019 20:12

No good deed goes unpunished.
As they say.

Aquamarine1029 · 15/08/2019 20:18

I would be keeping well away from that woman.

Fizzpopwhizzbang · 15/08/2019 22:10

That message about her dh makes her sound like a bit of a twat. I wouldn't be doing her any more favours.
