What size do you need, I'm a compulsive shopper, I'm bound to have something to suit you!

C0untDucku1a · 14/08/2019 23:27

Ive never heard of this site!

proseccoaficionado · 15/08/2019 05:59

Have you tried ASOS?

stucknoue · 15/08/2019 06:49

Try charity shops, oxfam near me has a whole wedding department including loads of wedding guest type dresses, more like £10 but they are £100+ dresses

isseywithcats · 15/08/2019 08:09

every thing five pounds is ends of lines i buy quiet a lot of clothes from there and one top i bought is top shop this is why they have limited amounts of items and limited sizes, so despite the price the quality is good, i wore a maxi dress from there to a wedding and didnt fell out of place with the guests who had paid pounds more for their outfits

barrelohflaughs · 15/08/2019 08:17

Try ASOS clearance, boohoo and shein. You can usually pick something up cheap, especially boohoo

formerbabe · 15/08/2019 08:18

There are some hidden gems on there...I think you could. I got a really nice handbag from there.

BeFire · 15/08/2019 08:29

I think its definitely possible. I've always been tempted to buy but never have. I think the postage and returns put me off.
I've just found a gem for christmas day though. I don't even think I'm joking.

I've had friends shop on the £5 website and they've had bargains.

What size are you, are you average height etc? That makes a difference whether you'll get anything.

Wait until the start of September and go on Ebay. I've had bargain dresses off there for formal occasions, even Coast dresses.

Those that buy new and have good social lives, have a clear out for the coming season.

haveuheard · 15/08/2019 08:57

I bought shoes from there and they were absolutely awful - completely the wrong shape. Won't waste my money again.

I love Shein, but they send from China don’t they? ( hopeful)

Second hand better IME than cheap websites. You can try on and you know you aren't directly contributing to child labour.

I'm going to a wedding in Sept and needed a dress I can breastfeed in so I asked around friends hoping someone might have something I could borrow and someone ended up giving me a dress they don't particularly like - it's not my favourite thing ever but it's appropriate enough for a wedding and it was free!

I’m s size 14 and 5ft 8. I want something between calf length and just above ankle. High neck and long sleeves. Don’t much like patterns.

Had my colours done and I’m a summer. So dusty soft pinks/blues/indigos

Can't you just wear something from your closet? You don't need to buy a new outfit for every wedding you go to. Most people don't remember what you wore to aunty Betsy's wedding sux months ago.

Topsecretidentity · 15/08/2019 11:06

Agree with pp about buying second hand. Anything you get for a fiver new will be shit quality and probably look shit. These are the only passable things I found on shop style for under £20 matching your description and even then the quality doesn't look great.

The only thing I worry about with websites like this, is that they seem to stock pixie sizes. Even the larger sizes are a bit pixie-ish and I’m a 12-14 after baby so not huge.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 15/08/2019 14:57

Like the swirly pink 70’s dress Topsecret.

Well spotted!
