to ask you to explain adding air to tyres?

So I tried to add air to my tyres yesterday. My car is a Mazda 2 and Google says the tyre pressure should be 36 for front and 33 for back tyres.

So I put my money in and select 36 on machine at petrol garage and start filling up. The first tyre went up to 36 but the others didn’t go up beyond 18. There were 2 cars waiting to go next so I checked the tyres were firm and then left.

Was I doing something wrong?

Put all dust caps in your pocket. Put the money in. Press the button to change pressure to your correct number. Press the button that looks a bit like a tyre. You'll hear air hissing as it fills the tyre and a beep when it's done. You might need to press the button that looks like a tyre again to inflate the next tyre. You have to move fairly quick to do all tyres on one coin but not lightening speed.

No, you do not run 4 different pressures! You run what is specified in the handbook or on the sticker in the door

I queried this with the garage and they said the recommended pressures didn't suit the tires on the car. So different pressures until they are all replaced next month!

They’re talking absolute nonsense I’m afraid. The only time you’d run different pressures across an axle is if using a temporary space saver spare.
