What does everyone think of julianna-rose for a girl. Everyone seems to hate it!

Juliet, Jennifer, Josephine, Joanna, Jemima, Jessica, Janie, Juno, Jemma, Jasmine all work well with Rose without it being such a mouthful. (Think Jessica Rose and Jemima Rose work particularly well.) Jules, Jane, Joy, are other J alternatives, but don't work so well with Rose imo.

As far as I know Julie-Anna isn’t the same name as Julianna. The Julianna I know is pronounced Juli -Ahhh- Nuh. Ah as in Arm not the short a as in Apple.

BackforGood · 12/08/2019 22:51

YABU to post in AIBU, when there is a baby names topic.

GibbonLover · 12/08/2019 23:00

Remember that Julianna will only be a 'baby' name for 18 months and will eventually become an adult's name. Julianna Cookie, General Counsel, Professor Julianna Cookie or Julianna Cookie, CEO all sound good and non-ridiculous so if you like the name, YANBU.

Congratulations on the impending arrival or good luck with conception, whatever is appropriate.

Both my daughters have double barrelled names. And both get called my both names. No one ever shortens it.

..... yet.
How old are they ?

TriciaH87 · 12/08/2019 23:47

Too long

zeezee3 · 12/08/2019 23:48

Not a fan sorry.

Julianna-Rose... Too much of a mouthful.

Sounds like an old fashioned, frumpy name too.

Sorry @cookie1991 but you did ask.

MyElbowIsItchy · 12/08/2019 23:50

Sounds like a decorative ornament, like a Victorian doll, sorry. Either name on their own is fine.

x2boys · 12/08/2019 23:56

I'm 45 @Backforgood I have a double barrel name and have always been known by my full name ,because you know it's rude to shorten someone's name unless they want you too.

steff13 · 12/08/2019 23:57

Julia? I quite like Rose.

BackforGood · 13/08/2019 00:04

That's nice for you x2boys, but incredibly unusual in a school environment.

Andysbestadventure · 13/08/2019 00:05

Sounds like someone from Texas tbh.

Sophronia · 13/08/2019 00:06

I prefer Juliana to Julianna

Smellbellina · 13/08/2019 00:09

Really? That’s not my experience.

CornishMaid1 · 13/08/2019 08:48

I don't tend to like double barrelled first names.

The more traditional names like Sarah-Jane and Anne-Marie work as each name is short, but Julianna has 4 syllables on its own so becomes to much when doubled. It is a pretty name so perhaps just make Rose a middle name.

Nonnymum · 13/08/2019 08:54

Perhaps you could have Rose as a middle name?

MoreFrog · 13/08/2019 11:53

I predict it will end up as Jools whichever is chosen.
