Has the morning after pill ever messes up anyone’s period the 2 month??

So we DTD in June, took the morning after pill 3 days later (nowhere sold it where we were) I checked my period and ovulation dates and turns out I was likely ovulating the weekend we had unprotected sex.
I ended up having my period bang on time in July, 3 days bleeding. (Was surprises as I thought it would make my period early or late the first month after taking the morning after pill)
Fast forward to this month.. I was due on 2 days ago and nothing as of yet?
Is it possible it’s just simply messed up my cycle?
I panicked a bit after taking the pill as it’s failed on me the one other time I took it years before and I ended up pregnant!! List the baby at 10 weeks.
Google hasn’t been helpful as it only me time the first cycle after taking the pill being messed up (which mine wasn’t) not the second..
Anyone else had experience like this?

If you're worried that you might be pregnant, take a test. That's the only way to know for sure.

I've always had irregular periods but when I took the MAP not long after my dc1 was born my cycle was even more erratic for several months.

@speedyshutter

I’d say it highly unlikely; had I not bleed last month and then been late again this month I would be terrified right now!
I’m annoyed with myself for having to take it, I’m just confused why it’s messed up my second one not the first. Very annoying as I like to keep track of my period so I’m not caught by surprise if I’m out and about!

Obviously it’ll turn up when I’ve put clean bed sheets on 🙄

If you took the MAP after you ovulated (and had sex while you were ovulating) there is a high probability of your being pregnant.

So I would take a FRER and find out for sure. Sorry.

And the bleeding in July could have been implantation bleeding.

Pinkout · 12/08/2019 16:33

The MAP isn’t effective if taken during ovulation, you should have been told this when you purchased it really. Was the last period a usual period for you or was it shorter/lighter than usual? It could have been implantation bleeding that’s all... Take a test.

What??? My heart has just skipped a beat, seriously.
But it was bang on the date that I was due on my period in July that I bled.. 3 days bleeding, enough to need tampons..
I was hoping someone would say their 2nd period was late too..
Yes I was ovulating that weekend.

@Stampy

Seriously - implantation bleeding can last three days.

And the MAP doesn't work if taken after you ovulate.

Jemima232 · 12/08/2019 16:51

So you might be 7 - 8 weeks pregnant by now, I'm afraid.

Please take a test. I really sympathise.

Stampy84 · 12/08/2019 16:55

Right I’ll take a test. Absolutely fuming with myself. I’ve got a small baby already and this couldn’t come at a worse time. We’re not even together anymore and I was struggling with that, and only just started to feel better about it. Had plans to move away etc.. ok I’ll not panic until I know for sure.

From Google:

How long after emergency contraception should I get my period?
It depends. Your first period after taking emergency contraception can be earlier or later that you expect it.

If you don’t get your period within 3 weeks of taking an emergency contraception pill like Plan B or ella, take a pregnancy test.

If you’re not pregnant, your menstrual cycle should return to normal the next month. Using emergency contraception often, however, can cause your periods to become irregular or unpredictable.

I would POAS in your position.

Was that short only bleeding for 3 days or lighter than usual. I ask because when I fell pregnant with my eldest I thought I was not as far as I was because I bled for about 3 days but lighter than usual. That was implantation bleeding. I suggest you take a test

Stampy84 · 12/08/2019 17:31

Thanks everyone,
I had a test from Superdrug, it was negative!
I’m assuming at this stage it wouldn’t matter what test, and what time I took it- the result would be clear.
Lesson learnt!
