To ask if you would use this service?

I want to start a ironing business, but I don't have a car so can't do deliveries. It will only be a collection only service, only thing that's holding me back is that I think I won't get many clients because I can't do deliveries. Would you use this service if you had to collect the clothes from my house?

Unless you lived very close to me, I would find it more hassle to drop and collect my ironing than to iron it myself!

Sorry op I wouldn't. I usually send in a pile at a time and I would find it a huge faff. But if your prices reflect that then I'm sure you will find clients willing to accept that.

I'd prefer to drop off and pick up myself. Then you're not left hanging around waiting for someone who's been held up. Having said that, I've only paid to have ironing done on 2 occasions and both I found too expensive. Like a pp I hate ironing, but not to the tune of £50 a pop.

I don't drive myself, so I personally wouldn't use a service that didn't deliver - but, as you can see from the responses, it seems that a lot of people would, and do, so it seems there's definitely a market for it.

I don't think it would be feasible to do collections and deliveries by bus.

I would have thought, especially in London, that most people would use an ironing service because they are time poor, cash rich. Paying less but having the hassle of collection/drop off seems like it wouldn't really work for a lot of people, unless you are right on their route to/from work and don't mind people ringing your doorbell until well into the evening or very early in the morning. Drop off/collection to a shop on a bus route or near their workplace is different to a private house.

Don’t offer deliveries by bus. It has much more chance of problems.

Why let this hold you back? Just try it - get ads out and see what the feedback is. You only need a certain number of regular clients, not the whole of London. From the replies here, some would like it and some wouldn’t so focus on the 50% that would like it.

I'm in London and wouldn't use you because like many Londoners I don't have a car and wouldn't want to lug my ironing about. I wonder how many people that say it wouldn't bother them are carless Londoners
