My ds (5) has been invited to a schools friends birthday party over the summer. When I rsvp ed the mother said please no gifts. I feel a bit always about this tbh. He brought a lovely gift to my boys birthday party- and I would have liked to reciprocate. Anyway, I thought maybe I could make gift voucher for my ds to put in a card. Maybe a voucher for come to ours for a play date with pizza? Or similar? Is that just to naff ? or is it rude to do that if no gifts requested? Aibu to send a home made voucher when no gifts requested?

I think it's a lovely idea, it's really original and I think he (and mum) would appreciate it, although my DC is only a month old so I have no experience with children's parties.
I'm sure a mum with dcs more yours age will be along soon. I just wanted to tell you it's a lovely idea.

That's a great idea!

I would love it. And so would my DD(6). In fact I might steal the idea.
