Binge eating

Aibu to wonder if I can ever break this cycle ?

Got into the bath earlier and got wedged in it
Could barely get myself out

My knees and ankles hurt from carrying all the weight !!

Gym membership is in place and finding I can manage 25-30 min workouts - so not too bad really

Can I please ask for anyone who has managed to deal with binge eating what helped??

I am hoping to join in with a overeaters anonymous group on a weekly basis also
Thanks all for your help in advance ❤️❤️❤️❤️

You've had lots of advice for diets and weight loss methods but these won't work if you have an eating disorder. I've had binge eating disorder for 20 plus years (mainly under control for the last 15 but suffering a relapse at the moment) Trying to do diets and meal replacements just made it worse. Overeaters Anonymous helped me a lot (although I have my reservations about 12 step programs in general), so definitely give that a go. Also go to your Dr and see what therapy options are available. Sadly there are probably very little and you will have to fight for them. I ended up going private to The Centre for Eating Disorders. Unfortunately I don't think it exists any more. There will be other options though. You need specialist therapy and support. There are also some good books on binge eating. There used to be a long running support thread on the eating disorders section here. It's dropped off the main page but do a search and there are good book recommendations.

I don't think you can ever fully conquer an eating disorder but I've been only bingeing occasionally for the last 10 years and have reached and stayed a healthy weight in that time. This is with no dieting. Diets are evil imho. Eating disorders are also evil. Definitely give OA a go and find some therapy.

I read 'Beyond Chocolate' and found their forum really helpful. I definitely binge a lot less now.
