To be awake??

We've had buzzing in my living room at night for just over a week. I'm currently sleeping in there with our baby as it just works best for us at the moment so I can hear it a lot in the night. My partner has checked all the electrics and he can't hear anything so we suspected I actually have tinnitus. I was almost relieved as the buzzing sounds like wasps or bees and I'm am seriously petrified, particularly of wasps.
Anyway I just went to the bathroom and my partner was sitting in there. When I came back he said 'shit you're right, I can hear it. It sounds like it could be a wasp nest'
It's considerably louder tonight. I'm worried they will burst through the window seat which is where I suspect they are.
We can't pinpoint where it's coming from it's everywhere and nowhere. Every slight creak is setting me off and he's gone up to bed Hmm.
Would anyone else be able to sleep with this??

If you're worried, shut the lounge door and go and sleep in the bedroom until it's sorted.

We would but the cot is down here and it's upstairs is rammed with my two children, my partner (they are in our bed because their room is being rearranged) and my stepson and his friends in his room. It all seemed like a good idea at the time!

Well can't you swap with your partner? I suppose it depends on who has the bigger fear of wasps!

Sux2buthen · 09/08/2019 00:04

He's offered but I'm up a lot feeding our baby and there's nowhere to safely have her upstairs without moving the cot and undoubtedly waking up the four and two year old. If he slept down here with the baby no way he'd wake up and hear her, not that I would just protect myself from wasps and leave her down here anyway Grin.
Our bedroom is pretty small and he's got 2 small kids in our bed so we can't fit in safely.
Downstairs suited us for a bit because I had a Caesarian and our bathroom and kitchen are downstairs (not to mention the tv etc).

Oh ok my partner is worrying too apparently. He's having a shift around upstairs so the baby and I can have the bed and he will set something up in the kids room for them. That's such a relief Grin
What a waste of a post

Sleep well op

We had this once and then it went away. It was definitely a buzzing of insects, but I think it may just have been wasps chewing the dry wood. Look outside near the eaves during the day-we could definitely see bisects coming and going.

Fatasfooook · 09/08/2019 01:00

The wasps will be outside though? So no problem if all windows are closed etc

Sux2buthen · 09/08/2019 08:46

Well I hope whatever it is is outside but this house is quite old with many nooks and crannies. We could still hear it upstairs but less so. We are concerned that they might be in the window seat in the front room. Going to try and figure out a plan today!
My baby was so thrilled to be on a large bed that she wanted to party all night so tired all round GrinThanks all
