How do you organise your attic?

It's my last place to declutter. I hate being in there so think I will attempt it weekly. A couple of things at a time. Any good ideas to keep it sorted? Quickly?

LOL, how do I organise my attic ?

I close the bloody hatch, that's how :)

I'm now giggling at the actual image of me having the time, inclination and energy required :)

Sorry guys, but I don't think I'll ever get there, LOL :)

Hat's off to you all who manage to do it :)

Xmas tree and one big box of decorations
Camping stuff stacked in cardboard veg boxes from Tesco
Tent(s)
Suitcases
Boxes for things e.g. Xbox, dyson etc
One box of only the most sentimental kids clothes

My ex had a nasty habit of chucking stuff in the loft just to get it out of the way, never to be seen again after I moved out.

Can't understand why you'd keep spare bedding in the loft. Or spare crockery. Even the Best Dinner Service - life's too short, use the good stuff or else what's the point?

No organisation, just one 30 year old Christmas tree belonging to the previous owner we can’t get to as no boards to walk on.

Ours is all over the place. Packed to the rafters, and I wouldn't know where to start!

dudsville · 07/08/2019 21:23

I've never been up there!

Close the door.

Just check water tank and interor roof and anything else regularly and thats it.

Our is converted into the kids bedrooms. There’s enough Eve space to keep the Xmas tree and a few boxes of decorations. I used to keep baby stuff but as they’ve gotten older we’re don to one outfit each in their memory boxes .

We keep the Christmas decorations/tree, Halloween bits, suitcases and camping stuff up there. We have a garage but it’s damp and I don’t want stuff to get ruined in there so that’s full of bikes and scooters.
It’s fully boarded out so DH has cleared a corner and has a small desk up there as his ‘man cave’ (he likes to paint miniatures) and it means it’s not all spread out over the dining table.
