To think video games do not cause mass shootings?

Three shootings in the space on a week. At least one targeted immigrants. The US has a president that is racist, anti-immigrant, very popular on 8-Chan where the shooter put his 'manifesto' and is in the pocket of the NRA. But it's video games that are to blame apparently.

If you can't blame shootings on guns, you have to find something else to blame them on!

The tango trump won’t take any responsibility or actually do anything.....as the NRA practically paid for his election!
And no, video games are not blame!
At least not in my house! My son has played them for yrs and as yet hasn’t had the urge to rush out buy an AK47 and go to school to kill kids of immigrants.
But, we do live in the uk!

The reaction to mass shootings, especially schools are: buy more guns ,buy more of the same gun used in case there's a ban, arm teachers, products like bullet proof backpacks.

Kinder eggs must be banned because they are dangerous, but you can buy a gun at Walmart.

Nothing will change because the people in power don't want to and the people underneath are too afraid and paranoid to. (Fear and paranoia fed and encouraged by the people in power).

It's a vicious circle and tbh that's why I don't react as emotionally when I hear about yet another school shooting. Nothing to do with playing video games and all to do with the fact that it's all pointless, glossed over and the only "action " taken being "thoughts and prayers " and blaming video games/horror movies/rock music.

Talk about priorities.

I don't think Americans will ever ban guns. They have the fear of home invasions, car jacking, robbery, radicalised people. I think they believe a gun will protect them and the law tells they can carry a gun in most states so sanctioned by the government.
If somehow they did manage to hugely tighten up the gun laws how many of them would willingly hand over what they see as their protection from the bad guys?

If we were to take the politics out of the situation....... the right to bear arms is part of the constitution, the basis for law and order in the USA.

At the time it was written, people need to be able to protect their land and family.....and the weren’t any police stations down the block!
So, 200yrs later that has translated into being allowed to carry and shoot guns and is not as the constitution would have had it mean!

USA is not going to rewrite the constitution.
The guns laws have been interpreted into something different in each state and county.
How do you reset that?
