So had an extension done, just a three metre one, someone we know did it, gave us a quote for all building work, asked once work had started if it included a front step which they said no, fair enough it wasn't in the original quote. Had building control out during it and everything was looking fine, they finished the work and we got building control back out to get it signed off but they won't sign it off because the house is too high up off the ground and needs steps building down (apparently we need the actual floor outside to be higher so need to put concrete down and build the steps off that)
So I think surely a builder can't do you an extension that doesn't meet building regulations he should have known the house was too high and would need a step so it should have being in the original price.
Oh disagrees and think we should now have to pay someone to build us a step.
I honestly thought a builder would have to make sure the work is right and leave it in a state that building control is happy with.
Who is right?
