Pain in knee last year, swollen, hot to touch, went on for months and needed a stick to walk. MRI and bloods were clear. Was put down to home being hit bit I have no memory of a serious knock.

8 months later same symptoms in other knee.

Also, visual problems (blurred vision and black patches), and am struggling to concentrate and remember things. DH says I am grumpy (due to pain I think). Work colleagues have noticed I am struggling to concentrate.

Could this be autoimmune?
Awaiting further tests but very worried!

You need to see a doctor urgently about the black patches in your vision.

WhoAmIToTellYou · 02/08/2019 19:09

Arthritis apparently can affect your eyes so you need to read about that and demand more tests from GP

Chlamydia infection can cause reactive arthritis and affect the eyes too apparently...

Winterlife · 02/08/2019 19:22

It could also be MS. The pain plus the blurry vision are both symptoms.

slashlover · 02/08/2019 19:28

Have you been to an optician?

PumpkinPie2016 · 02/08/2019 19:30

YANBU - I would suggest you see both a GP and optician urgently.

Haggisfish · 02/08/2019 19:30

I’d go to an optician as well-they can scan back of your eye and detect various issues.would also give you a baseline to compare vision to in future.

Yogagirl123 · 02/08/2019 19:40

See your GP, explain your symptoms and ask if she/he thinks a referral to a Neurologist is appropriate.

Was the MRI on your knee? Have you seen an optician since the symptoms started?

It may be a good idea to see optician before you see GP, as your GP will probably ask if you have seen an optician. An optician will be able to tell if you have had an inflammatory attack that has effected your vision.

Try not to worry, wishing you all the best for the future. Flowers

I saw an optician today and they checked my retina but everything was ok.
There is ms in my family which is my biggest fear, but apparently it is not hereditary.

Have you had a brain and spine MRI?

WhatIsThis1 · 02/08/2019 20:33

No just on one knee.
