To eat chocolate cake and custard for breakfast?

Normally it wouldn't cross my mind but I'm in the grip of a horrible cold, I'm knackered and the food delivery that was meant to come yesterday was cancelled by the shop so there's not much in the house unless I want to cook.

My best friend dropped off a home made chocolate cake last night and it's looking at me. Wibu?

(This is lighthearted, obviously!)

Most populations eat a bit of this and that for breakfast from their otherwise daily menu. My SIL ( from abroad) is always mildly amused we English have actual breakfast food. If that’s not an excuse for cake and custard I don’t know what is. Grin

I had it and it was lovely.

No cream in and the only ice cream I had was inside of a magnum which I figured was a bit much 😂

Shopping has been delivered, thank god. I'm off for a lemsip and a nap. Thinking this is less a cold and like tonsillitis starting which is filling me with joy. 😩☹️

One of the few benefits of being an adult (as far as I’m concerned) is being able to eat cake for breakfast if you want

I'm making cornflake tart later and will definitely be eating it for breakfast tomorrow.

Sounds great! Last Saturday we have sugary waffles, vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. Had some waffles bought from Amsterdam that had been forgotten about and was damned if they were going in the bin. Kids thought I'd lost my marbles but we all agreed it was the best breakfast ever!
