Indoor hanging baskets?

Am I the only one who didn't realise that this was thing?

I've recently bought a few artificial hanging baskets for the very bottom of the garden.

I've just hung them up and noticed that the label says they're for indoor use only..... aibu to a) not even know this is a thing, and b) not want a basket of artificial flowers in my kitchen/ lounge/ wherever?

Also, what happens to me now I've hung indoor baskets outside? I feel like I've broken a rule and am taking risks with artificial flower etiquette Grin

I reckon it's a get out clause for the manufacturer so they don't have to make them such good quality that they'll survive the elements.

Yabu for buying fake ones in any circumstances. They're horrid 🤢

Very 1970s!

It'll be because they'll fade in the sun and maybe start to disintegrate after a season of wind and rain.

I don’t think it’s a thing, and agree with poster above about it being a clause to prevent you complaining if it doesn’t withstand the elements well. I’d use them outside as long as they could’ve be seen close up. A house near me has artificial flowers on planters on their balcony and it looks well.

This sort of reminded me about the hideous fake topiary tree with artificial roses that I used to have in my hall, from B&M. I thought it was lovely at the time! Blush

*couldn’t

SleepingIsOverrated · 01/08/2019 12:35

Yep they're far enough away that I can't see them close up, they look fab from where I sit! Luckily I didn't buy one for the op who says they're horrid Grin

I've always been against artificial flowers in gereral but they remind me of the obviously plastic ones in the 70s but these are very convincing and don't need watering Grin

Let's see how well they survive the elements!!
