To wonder why on earth anyone goes to Center Parcs?!

I’ve had several friends who have been to various sites and raved about it, but to me it just looks like a slightly more upmarket Butlins?! It’s extortionately expensive, the chalets look like they’re furnished by Premier Inn, you have to pay for activities, you’re stuck on site eating at their overpriced restaurants... Am I missing something?!

When we went with my nan who is fail and unable to walk we had a mini bus service who would come pick my nan up from our lodge and take her to where we were going and then when she needed to go back to lodge they would pick her up. Mobility services or something it was called.

I’ve been to the spa in Woburn Forrest a few times. Very luxurious.
Then another time been to the pool/hired bikes on a day pass.
Was all very nice but nothing I can’t do at local parks for free.
I couldn’t imagine spending £££ for a week.
I’ve heard it’s code word for up the bum sex, and I always snigger when I hear people are going.

Yeah, mobility services came and took her from the lodge to get her scooter. She’s too independent to rely on having to ring and wait for a lift and preferred the scooter to potter about as she wanted to and so she could see a bit of the off road areas.

I've never been. I want to go.

Whaaaa!

After my posts about it not being my cup of tea we are now going with the in laws next year - outvoted unfortunately Grin
But I’m willing to go with an open mind I think we are going to a bigger one so I’m hoping it’s better and we don’t get flu next time Confused

just take plenty of bird seed/nuts... it was like a scene from flippin Snow White - we "moved in" laid out seed, got milk etc and went back to lodge -

3 squirrels, one duck with 3 ducklings, rabbit, 1 deer, green coloured woodpecker, 3 jays - 2 adult one juvenile - and a myriad teeny tiny birds - blue tits, coal tits, great tits, chaffinch, bullfinch, nuthatch, some littler than sparrowy things that weren't just little sparrows but I can't remember what they were, robins etc... followed by bats later...

No IMO Yanbu centre parcs are awful vastly overpriced and equal to the ninth circle of hell in the school holidays I have never been able to fathom why people go! (Self-catering is also not my idea of a holiday but I totally get why people do it.)

Same with any holiday- each to their own. Works for us. Been dozens of times & never had a bad experience.
