I have been having problems breathing for the last 2 weeks but over the past 3 days its been getting worse.

I have a feeling of heavy pressure on my chest and I find it hard to take in a breath - the heavy feeling is always there and it feels like my chest is being crushed.
I have a slight cough and its a dry cough and not constant.

I went to the doctors yesterday and they referred me to hospital - i had a chest X ray, an ECG, blood tests which checked for anaemia, thyroid, blood clots, oxygen levels and something else, blood pressure and pulse taken.
Everything came back totally normal

But I still can't breathe and this pressure on my chest is driving me nuts! I also have a slight strange pressure sensation on my forehead.

The doctor said oh its probably just stress Confused

I haven't done anything different lately, no more stress than usual!

I have tried relaxing, taking some deep breaths and just switching off, tried not to think about it etc and nothing is working - i still have this awful pressure on my chest.

What else can I do? Do i go back to the doctor and demand they refer me to a specialist? Anyone else experienced something similar?

Go back to the doctor. Something is clearly not right.

Do you have acid reflux? Or even silent reflux? That can be really painful and cause SOB.
But yes, back to your GP.

@Synecdoche nope no reflux and it's not painful just very very uncomfortable Sad

Anxiety/stress related.

I've just had the same tests run - all clear.

@IAskTooManyQuestions - are you experiencing the same symptoms?

I don't see how mine can be stress related - if anything I'm more relaxed this time of year!
