Trying to find this in shops is driving me insane - is it really such a difficult thing to want? I can get it online, but postage makes it very expensive. Does anyone buy this, if so where from please? and how much does it cost?

I got some from Ikea.

SadieContrary · 30/07/2019 18:17

If this is what you're looking for then I just found it on ASDA online

I got some of the ones you put o top of a salad from Morrison's...You can often get them in Asian supermarkets as well. I'm also pretty sure I've seen them in Tesco

bushtailadventures · 30/07/2019 18:18

I used to get it from Asda, not sure if they still do it though. I have the same problem with tinned ones, Sainsburys used to to both, but not any more.

MulberryPeony · 30/07/2019 18:18

Called crispy onions in Tesco.

Nearlyfriyay987654 · 30/07/2019 18:19

Do you mean powder? Easy to get hold of online... google onion powder.
The onion bits that come on salads are also sold in Asda / Morrison’s etc

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 30/07/2019 18:22

If you want actual dried onion rather than granules or though crispy salad things, I suggest looking in village shops/post offices. My (admittedly very rural) post office shop has them in boxes alongside the dried peas...

ShinyMe · 30/07/2019 18:30

Seconding IKEA if you want the cripy dried things that are amazing on mashed potato. They sell great big tubs of them.

Mollypolly2610 · 30/07/2019 22:15

Got mine in B and M!

neverhadanymarblestolose · 30/07/2019 22:53

Just checked my cupboard as I knew I had some! And they're from IKEA.

B and M do it.

If you mean the type for cooking rather than the salad ones, try searching for Whitworths dried onions. Showing up for me as about 50p box available in quite a few supermarkets. Sometimes seen with brand name Great Scot on the box.

Genuinely curious as to why you wouldn't just use fresh onions?

minisoksmakehardwork · 31/07/2019 04:51

The prymat stuff will be in the 'world foods' aisle or wherever your supermarket keeps European foods.

I buy breadcrumbs from that section because they are always a bigger bag and bogof.

Zoflorabore · 31/07/2019 05:02

If it's onion powder/granules op then I get them in Asda. Quite a few SW/pinch of nom recipes use this and I was stumped but there it was, in with the usual spices etc.

WelshMoth · 31/07/2019 05:16

Would love to know how you all use them!

MyKingdomForACaramel · 31/07/2019 13:14

Do you mean powder? If so at usually on the world foods aisle in HUGE packets.

MyKingdomForACaramel · 31/07/2019 13:14

@WelshMoth home made doner kebab 🥙

ilovesooty · 31/07/2019 17:40

Aldi sells them.

Rainbunny · 31/07/2019 17:40

Interesting - I just found this stuff at Waitrose as well, dried onions that can be reconstituted with water. This is new to me!
