Not really AIBU, more Am I The Only One?
Am I the only one who finds the phrase ‘This too shall pass’, a Mumsnet favourite, really annoying? It offers no help, no advice and is basically saying you’ve got to put up with it which you already know because you don’t have a choice!

Is it just me or does anyone else find it annoying?

It seems to be somewhat useful to parents dealing with some particularly wearing phase of their DCs development, when included along with more useful advice or experience.

So, while of course you're at liberty to be annoyed by whatever you want, YABU to complain about it being used on MN.

I like it. Since having a child there have been many stages that I've just had to wait out but they have passed; I expect many more.

Good point.

I imagine it's said by the same sort of whimsical, ruddy-cheeked women that "put the world to rights" over pink gin in country pubs.
