AIBU to let DS get his ear pierced

He brought this up a while ago, but he’s asking again. DH and I are ok with the idea but we are not sure because he would be the only boy in the school with them done. Is it too chavvy? Confused
DS is 16

Thanks for all the replies on here. Looks like he will be getting it done then. We can’t say no!

I remember there used to be a certain ear that guys would get pierced? Is this no longer relevant? Seems he wants to get both done Smile

He's 16, so its his choice anyway, he could just go get it done without asking you.

I know lots of young lads with pierced ears who are not even slightly chavvy, I know a few it looks chavvy on too, it depends on the earrings they wear and how they dress with it and their general demeanour. I have to say I'd agree with @BrokenWing though, stretching it is fine for an adult but styles change so much when you're young, a normal piercing is pretty unnoticeable if you change your mind but stretched is very permanent and looks really grim if you take it out.

Both done is cool, 16 year old bro tells me "right ear, pretty queer" but its not as much of a thing as it was say 10 years ago.
