To think I'm about to be stood up

First date with guy tonight. Been speaking non stop on the phone for the last few weeks. He's text me all day saying how excited he is. I finished work an hour ago said I was going home to nap and to let me know when he was ready... 1 hour 20 later no response 😭

We said around "6ish" - I'm usually quite laid back about things so there's my wording.

I'm being stood up aren't I

You texted him at 6:20 when you had plans for 6 ish thinking you were being stood up?! I think you might have been a bit hasty there! I hope the date goes well.

But I am just as confused as everyone else on telling him you're having a nap and then getting ready all within an hour of your date?

Tbh I'd be quite unimpressed and I'd think that person was slowly building up a possible excuse for not turning up ha

I would also assume that someone going home for a nap at 5.20 when they were meant to be meeting me at 6 wasn't bothered in the least about meeting me.

I would hope that someone going home from work at that time would have a shower and then get ready to meet me, and even then I would imagine they'd be cutting it fine.

I would taken aback and confused to be told they were going home to sleep.

I hope you have a nice date. But I’m with the others that think it’s a bit weird for someone to go home for a nap at 5pm when they have a date potentially at 6pm!

OP, are you near to retirement?

You should have gone home, showered and then got dolled up to meet him.

work, a nap and straight out? erm does he get any effort? no dolling up or you know, showering? a nap after a days work. i can't. good luck 😀

It was an amazing first date. He thought it was sweet that I had a nap. We stayed out until 3am just talking... Very happy, but I won't be takingg any more naps before future dates 😅
