Neighbour leaving car running..

Over the past couple of weeks, a car is pulling up outside my next door neighbours house at night and sitting with the engine running. For aaaaaages. They've been there 45 minutes tonight so far. I'm assuming it is young love and one is dropping the other off and they are talking etc but FFS turn the engine off! I am lying in bed silently fuming and wishing I had the balls to go outside and knock on the car window and say something. It is so inconsiderate! Tell me I'm not being unreasonable with my rage....?

Yanbu. I'd be out there in my dressing gown telling them it is illegal to sit with your engine idling.

But I've just been accused of being aggressive on another thread so you might want to ignore me.

I would also be out in m6 dressing gown telling them to turn the engine off. Alternatively can you speak to your neighbour and ask them to tell whoever it is to turn the engine off

Can you report them to the authorities? I'm not sure where though. But yes that's highly annoying and stupid and selfish and I would also be out in my dressing gown having a word.

I had this happen a little while ago. Car sat outside late at night, engine running, oblivious. I couldn’t wait that long though, I think it was about ten minutes before I turned the bedroom light on, flung open the curtains and did a dramatic arms thrown in air manoeuvre. The engine went straight off. Thoughtless twats.
