We had a holiday in May and can't afford to do much this holiday. Need some inspiration! Everyone else seems to be off having interesting breaks and days out! Anyone else on a budget but keeping busy?

TV wise we are working our way through 80s and 90s family films. We've really enjoyed watching them together.
Jurassic Park
Honey I shrunk the kids
Flight of the Navigator
Beethoven

My friend who has an only child is hosting loads of playdates in the first couple of weeks with different kids which usually means her ds gets invited back to quite a few.

ElizaPancakes · 29/07/2019 12:59

So far mainly arguing about absolutely everything. Can you incorporate that into your day?

gotmychocolateimgood · 29/07/2019 13:04

If my DCs argue I put them in their rooms for 10 mins. They font like that and seem to be getting on a bit better now.

SodOffNoddy · 29/07/2019 13:19

I've opted for plenty of overtime at work to escape from mine.
If I have to be at home I just kick them outside to play. They make their own fun.

I am lucky I teach so childcare isn’t an issue and I also come from a long line of teachers so my Mum has kindly taken them away on holiday this week.

The other weeks I plan to do crafts, baking, the park, art galleries, library, local museums and castles, the beach, softplay.

Check out the app Hoop, I find lots of activities on there and most are free.

Swimming and cinema are good shouts too especially on rainy days. Swimming is very cheap.

Swimming and swimming and swimming
