To ask you, are you happy with your job and home?

Little tipsy, very emotional and tired.

Was just thinking about my own job/field and the area I live in and wondering about others too.

I work in care, elderly care to be specific. I utterly love my job, I adore the people i care for and treat them like family. Several times over the years Ive lost people and had to take time off work due to grief but i wouldnt change my job/field for anything.

In regards to my home, i put up with it, ive no pride in my home as i cant stand it, dont have people round and i could move to somewhere bigger with a garden for less money but living here is only great as both parents have been ill over the last few years and its extremely handy being so close, also my childs school is even closer.

What about you? Are you happy with your job and your home?

Yes.

My boss is amazing, flexible working, ok pay, can walk to the office, progressions, not too much stress.

Our house is lovely, has so much charactor , right near the town centre but on a quite road, big enough for the 3 of us, lovely garden- needs some quite major reno work but structurally sound.

I'm very very lucky with my lot. I love my life completey.

Lovemenorca · 29/07/2019 11:42

I can’t articulate how much I love my home
Love love love it

Coming back from holiday - I get butterflies at thought I’d walking through door

Job - preoccupying but overall - fantastic

I was made redundant. Relocated for a new job & a new home
I earn enough to pay for bills, holidays, days out with family & friends
I appreciate that I have been lucky

SodOffNoddy · 29/07/2019 13:39

I love both my job and my home. I wouldn't change either for anything.

Jenniferturkington · 29/07/2019 13:45

Well I like my profession but am currently looking for a job having just finished an awful one.

Love love love my house. It’s a gorgeous house but does need lots doing to it. Once I get a job we will be able to afford to bring it back to the standard it deserves.

thecatsthecats · 29/07/2019 13:45

My job is meh. Occasionally fun, but I'm not attached to the people or the work. However, it provides:

  • an excellent work life balance
  • seniority to change things I dislike rather than obeying petty restrictions
  • flexibility
  • a big salary
  • within walking distance of my home

With the salary, the location, and the control I have over my life, it can't be beat. I have loads of time to improve my fitness (very important, lost a lot of weight), and engage in hobbies, and lots of money to travel.

My home is very nice but not perfect. I'd prefer to be more rural. But right now, I can live an excellent lifestyle, by far better than I might have in a more fulfilling job.

CareerChaos · 29/07/2019 13:53

You can probably tell by name haha currently being made redundant so not happy with my job, my house is rented and needs painting badly so also no.

I am however very happy with the rest of my life!!

Sexnotgender · 29/07/2019 13:57

Love my job though I’m currently on maternity leave.

Love my home, married to a minister so live in an enormous, beautiful old manse which I adore.

Luxembourgmama · 29/07/2019 14:26

Blissfully happy at home miserable in my job.

ComeTheFuck0nBridget · 29/07/2019 14:46

My job is a difficult one. I am beyond grateful for it, but I don't love the job itself. I dream of doing something more creative.

My house; I don't like my current house but DH and I bought a new one last year, we're currently renovating it and I am so excited to move in, I love my new house very much!

Butters83 · 29/07/2019 14:52

Remember when what you have is what you wanted.........

PleaseGoogleIt · 29/07/2019 14:58

Happy in my job and generally the same with my home - we're just in the middle of huge renovations though so it's to be hoped I love it. That being said, I would happily move to a better area, I'd just like to take my house with me.

MinisterforCheekyFuckery · 29/07/2019 14:59

I bloody love my job. It's rewarding, interesting, varied, works around the DC and allows me to make a difference. It's also term-time only which is great. I was an HCP in the NHS for years and was constantly stressed and exhausted so I really appreciate the work/life balance that I have now.

I also love our home now, but it's taken a while to get here. Our first house was very much a compromise, in terms of location and the house itself. We saved hard for a long time to buy our current house, it's in a lovely area and we fell in love with it because of the location and the fact that it had plenty of space and lots of potential, even though it was badly in need of some TLC. We've been here four years this year and after a lot of hard work (pretty much every room in the house needed doing up) we're really happy with it and can't imagine moving.

redcaryellowcar · 29/07/2019 17:55

Really enjoy my job, would like to be paid more and am qualified to do a more substantial version of my job but with young children my current role offers shorter hours and a bit more flexibility. As for house, I have seen a beautiful house that I would love to buy but a variety of factors mean we can't afford it, and whilst ideally our house would be a bit bigger, ours is in a nice area, walking distance to shops, and hopefully we can reconfigure it when funds allow, which would make it nicer than it is now.

ravenshope · 29/07/2019 18:37

No job due to disability.
Not loving home at moment but looking forward to moving soon- can't wait!

Basketofkittens · 29/07/2019 18:51

I used to work in the City but took time off after having DC. I’m currently a post grad student training to be a teacher and enjoying it!

Love where we live, gated community with beautiful grounds and security guards. Also have another two flats that are mortgage free and that we rent out.

PookieDo · 29/07/2019 19:20

I love my home and I love the area. House needs some decorating but it’s perfect for me

Job: I wasn’t happy for a long time so I moved jobs. Ive hit a level where I feel a bit out of my depth at times and I have a lot to learn but it’s such a good opportunity I can’t waste it. I’ve been a single parent for over 10 years and finally feel like I am getting my financial independence

W1nnerW2nner · 02/08/2019 14:55

I'm going to add that my job allows me to have lots of time away from the home. As someone who has moved around lots, the home is a base.
