Been prescribed this this morning. Only taken one tablet so far. Been given 5 days worth. I'm in agony. The dentist could see nothing wrong with my tooth on x-rays so gave me amoxicillin in the hope that it will work. Desperately hoping it does. Does anyone know how long they take to kick in?

It's still very tender but not painful when I'm not touching it. Over the course of today I have developed a large lump under my tooth on my gum. Please don't say that means I need to to back to the dentist 😭

It definitely does! Sounds like an abscess and you might need a root canal. I’ve had a few and they’re nowhere near as bad as they’re made out to be. Any pain you have at the dentist’s won’t be as bad as the pain you’ve had up to now. I find the worst is the injection and then it’s not so bad.

That does sound like an abscess. Hopefully the lump means it's coming to a head.
