Old Fashioned? It looks like my teen dds cursive writing and it's how she was taught to join and write in Primary. She's y10 in September so hardly ancient.

Attached a snapshot of science work.

Bet she doesn't do that cursive 'z' though

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 27/07/2019 23:35

Def old enough to have learned joined up writing!

I wasn't suggesting you werent old enough to do joined up writing op

I was asking in case the style of cursive had indeed changed the cursive i read as a kid tended to be from my irish educated grandparents and now is from my irish educated nieces/nephews/godchilldren, but as a result i have no real idea about how cursive is taught in the uk. It maybe old fashioned in the UK. I Wasn't suggesting you couldnt do cursive i was asking about the style of cursive you were taught i wasn't being rude about your ablity to write or read, in fact the person who just asked if you could read was being rude.

You're right demented. I've just woke her up to ask after being unable to find a z in her workbooks 😂

She said the one in the OP looked like a y with the u next to it, she scrolled further down and then said "but that looks a lot like my writing" and I said "that's because it is from your science book" 😀

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 27/07/2019 23:42

Aw @naught how lovely of you- didn’t take it as rude.
Agree interesting how we all bring different experiences to the conversation...

While I never used it myself (my scribble was so bad that my Year 9 teacher told me to give up joining) but I remember seeing a cursive 'z' in the illustrated style on one of those handwriting template things around Year 5 or so.
