DH and I are trying to create a shortlist of baby names we like for our new baby and I’ve come across threads on here where people say a name is going to date. What does that mean, I’m genuinely confused Grin

I think Margot Robbie is the reason for the popularity Smile

Isla Olivia Sophie Eva Ella are all fresh from now

My sister's middle name was Olivia. Born in 1953. Named after the Shakespearean character (parents were in the theatre sailing!). I was nearly called Beatrice for the same reason (although I am still known as Bea).

*Dahling - not sailing! Hmm

Ava is massively popular.

Meh. If some old dears want to hear/see DD's name and go, 'Oooh, bet they were born in the sixties!' it doesn't bother me. If they meet her they'll find out they're wrong. Unless you want to limit yourself quite severely to names like Elizabeth and Andrew, you'll find that all of them wax and wane in popularity to an extent.

All 3 of my children have names that have gone out of popularity and back into popularity and are names that will go with them through life as another poster said. I don’t think you could particularly pin point the years of their births as 2 of them are family names on my husbands side so think relatives in their 60s and 80s and going back further still
