It's freezing!

Near Aberystwyth and we live in a very old cottage with thick walls.

Neath here and it's lovely, warm but with a lovely breeze.

MsJRMEsq · 27/07/2019 18:45

It's 17 outside.

16° here and it's refreshingly lovely. I've got so much done today Smile

Woke up to rain and it's been on and off all day. Bliss.

Also means I don't need to water the plants!

ysmaem · 27/07/2019 19:05

I am also in Wales and even though it's a lot cooler today and its trying to rain here I definitely wouldn't put the heating on. I find the cooler air refreshing!

familycourtq · 27/07/2019 19:07

YABVU - it's 24.5 indoors with the windows open here.

GiantKitten · 27/07/2019 19:13

Lancs here.
16 degrees, has rained all afternoon, windows now closed, fans off & socks on
Lovely Smile

GiantKitten · 27/07/2019 19:14

Plus I'm on pot watering duty for next door who hasn't got a hose so I'm extra delighted about the rain

Lillyhatesjaz · 27/07/2019 19:17

Save the planet put on a jumper

Aprillygirl · 27/07/2019 19:19

You don't need the heating on when it's 17 degrees. Think of the environment and put a fucking jumper on if you feel cold!

SoSoHot · 27/07/2019 19:21

Two words: climate change. Don’t burn unnecessey fossil fuels when there is clearly no need. It’s july. Put some clothes on if you are cold and stop being so ridiculous.

SoSoHot · 27/07/2019 19:21

Unnecessary

DrMadelineMaxwell · 27/07/2019 19:22

Apparently they have had s lot of rain today and its 13 degrees in n Wales where I live..

Happily I'm in Malta and it's been boiling.

SoSoHot · 27/07/2019 19:24

It was 39C in London on thursday. That broke the record for July. This is climate change happening. Right now. These are the first signs that things are changing. Stop being so flippant about burning fuel and start taking some responsibility.

MsJRMEsq · 27/07/2019 19:25

Yeah, it's rained a lot here. The house doesn't get warm easily and now it's dropped a lot inside, unfortunately it's a tied house so we don't get much choice where we live.

OP posts:
IncrediblySadToo · 27/07/2019 19:30

Are you cold?
Can you afford it?

If the answer to both is ‘yes’ then why would it be mad?

(A little environmentally unfriendly maybe but you’re not alone in that!)

I’m in the SE and it’s still quite warm here, despite it raining earlier, but if i was cold I would put the heating on.

pigsDOfly · 27/07/2019 20:04

It's quite cold here now so I've put on a jumper and socks.

Looking forward to an evening relaxing in front of the tv wrapped in my nice cosy jumper instead of sitting here thinking I'm going to melt in the heat.

Still won't put the heating on though as I think it would make the house feel stuffy.

However, if you want your heating on OP you should feel free to have it on. Nothing wrong with that.

helloisitmeyourelookingfor · 27/07/2019 20:13

Yorkshire here, been raining all day and feels freezing

I am using a blanket and my cat to keep warm but my hands are still freezing

Heratnumber7 · 27/07/2019 22:41

Hey sprout. I'm in Neath too

justasking111 · 27/07/2019 23:21

Wales here too, I had a blanket on the sofa this afternoon, just been out to collect DS it has warmed up to 14c again tonight. It is the dampness not just the temp.

sproutsandparsnips · 29/07/2019 23:35

Yey @Heratnumber7 sorry only just come back to post! Waving to you too 👋

MummyMcCracken · 29/07/2019 23:40

I have the heating on most of the time, I really feel the cold. If you're cold put the heating on.

InterestedandListening · 30/07/2019 17:45

Are you serious? Climate change.

WindsweptEgret · 30/07/2019 17:50

At 17 degrees?! Put a jumper and jeans on.
