Help! What can I wear to a christening tomorrow with only flip-flops or trainers?!

Ok so I've stupidly dropped a car part on my foot, nothings broken but my big toe is BLACK and v swollen all I can wear atm is open shoes like flip-flops or soft trainers. Any pressure and it feels like my nails sliding off... sorry for gross details

I have a christening and evening do to go to tomorrow and not a clue what to wear. Its not good weather so flip-flops will look daft, but trainers and a dress? Hmm

I was going to wear a lovely floral silky dress and nude patent heels but what can I do now? Can attach pics later if that'll help you work out what won't look bloody stupid! I'll look daft with my hobble anyway 😂

I think those flip flops will be fine with your dress SmileSmileSmileSmile

It isn't as if they were written across in huge letters QUIKSILVER or BILLABONG etc

Blingy flip flood all the way. Ones like these available all over the place:

*flip flops 🙄

Definitely go with the flip-flops. Trainers will look absolutely awful and clumpy with that dress and no one will be able to tell why you are wearing them.

StrawberrySquash · 27/07/2019 16:53

Flip flops will be fine. My friend who has foot issues wore them to our friend's wedding. You're not obliged to wear heels, although I get that you would have liked to.

Can't you nip out and get some nice sandals instead of flip flips?

bellabasset · 27/07/2019 17:16

Wear the flip flops, but take the trainers in case you need them if its raining and slippery.

I banged my big toe on the supermarket trolley, hurt like hell and then a few months later the nail was coming up with a new one growing underneath so you might lose the nail.

Froucornball · 27/07/2019 19:24

The nails definitely gone, it's starting to lift at the front.

So I've really fucked up and forgotten the bag with my trainers AND flip-flops in... All I have is black indoor gym shoes. So I'm going to buy more. I've been cleaning all day as were moving house, shops are shut so it's now a tesco or asda job!

Past caring now I'l stick on any old flopflips I can get! Tbh I'm that sick of faffing on now I might wear nice jeans and a floaty top instead of a dress, I'm sure they won't mind Hmm

DP has just accidentally stood on my toe, I cried in Wilkos Angry

Comfortable sandals from Clark’s? I would go get a £50 ish pair. You will use them again as they are always so comfy.

Froucornball · 27/07/2019 19:32

I've got £45 quid ones that I've left at home! Cry
