Age 40...is this normal?

I am 40 with one child and feel constantly exhausted. I'm tired when I get up. My legs ache all the time. I often wake up with some kind of stomach ache. My periods are heavy. I have zero energy or motivation to do anything. I'd always take the car over walk. Im just under a stone overweight. I'm considering another child but scared to when i feel like this. No known health issues. Is this normal? X

Anemia linked to heavy periods could explain it all.
Do you eat lots of high iron foods (esp heme iron)?

Possibly Fybromyalgia ?

I think when you hit 40 as I have, your bad habits just catch up with you! You can't get away with drinking lots/bad diet etc like you did when you were younger. I had to get my bloods recently done as I was tired and I was really low in iron due to heavy periods..which again started when I was 39/40. What helps me most is no caffeine, good diet and lots of vitamins. Plus as much exercise as I can fit in around my kids. I do things like walking to work instead of taking the bus etc, running up and down stairs and so on. It all helps. You should get checked at the doc as well though.

Hi i was having similar symptoms and was put on the combipatch- sleeping better but periods immediately stopped...
Anyone know why this could happen?

Collins7777 · 06/11/2019 21:01

Sorry also to say- sleep is key- maybe you could use a Fit bit/ sleep tracker to see how
Much you’re getting..
