Is there a dressing gown that won't make me look like Hilda Ogden?

Ridiculous time of year to be asking but I'm just wondering AIBU to think this does not exist? I am after a warm and cosy dressing gown that is also quite stylish and flattering. I have a few fluffy towelling things that make me look really frumpy. Anything trying to look attractive seems to be made of really light material and not at all warm, so no use.

Please tell me your stylish loungewear tips! I am willing to spend a bit for something that fits the bill but am starting to think it literally doesn't exist?!

😂😂 no. But it doesn’t matter cos it’s a dressing gown.

I spend quite a bit of time in it though and would rather look my best!

I have half a dozen of lovely antique/vintage silk kimonos of various lengths

They look nice

I have something from a shop in Chinatown - this sort of thing but longer. It's not exactly cosy but good in Spring/Summer.
But I think the answer is no, you can have comfort and warmth or you can have style, but you can't have both when it comes to dressing gowns. Also, Hilda Ogden was a legend

LaurieFairyCake · 25/07/2019 21:42

Actually not just different lengths, various thicknesses so I have winter ones

gownofdoom · 25/07/2019 21:45

I agree that kimonos look fab but they would not be warm enough for my icy blood. I agree Hilda was a legend! I'm just hoping for warmth AND style somehow...

Not , but my winter one is from Joules and pretty presentable - it's jersey on the outside and fleece on the inside, not bulky but still really warm and looks nice, albeit in a cosy way more than a chic way Grin I guess I mean it's nicer than a full-on fleece robe?

For summer, I have a really lovely full-length cotton one that is uber flattering, love watfing round in it.
