Stopping breastfeeding so I can take painkillers?

This is the point I've reached. No dentist appointments available. I have severe toothache. No appointments in my area (we are talking a 70 mile radius) and I can't get an appointment for 6-8 weeks. Sane day dentist is booked every time I phone them by the time I get through.

WIBU to stop breastfeeding my son so I can take painkillers that will actually help? I know that's incredibly selfish but I am sat here in tears as I have just been told again 'sorry we just booked our last appointment'

One thing with naproxen - definitely take it with food. Depending on strength check they have prescribed it with omeprazole, if not speak to pharmacist when you collect it as it can cause nasty gastrointestinal reactions as it irritates the stomach lining. I am prescribed it regularly for period problems (has the bonus of reducing bleeding) so have experienced the full spectrum of issues !
Hope your tooth gets sorted you poor thing. Have you got any anbesol? Basically lidocaine and can help.

The Breastfeeding Network Drugs Advice website has information on drugs safe in breastfeeding, and the concerns around codeine (in co-codamol).

Presumably you also need to see a dentist for treatment of whatever is causing this severe toothache, in addition to painkillers.

Are there any emergency dental walk in clinics at hospitals? My local hospital has a walk in every week day which isn't widely advertised?
Private dentist?
Dentist near family in different area?
Does your dentist not have emergency appointments? If I explain that I have an urgent problem to receptionist they find an appointment asap, and put me on cancellation list.
