Please help me with wasp sting

I’m terrified of insects and molluscs. I’ve just been stung by a wasp and I can’t stop crying. It’s not just the pain - it feels like someone keeps sticking a pin in me, but the fact that a wasp had gone in to my clothing and stung me. I feel violated. I’m shaking and deep breathing but I can’t deal with what has just happened.

Can anybody help or advise me PLEASE??

Ouch, get some vinegar on it if you can, it neutralises the sting so should help ease the pain at least

Wasps are nasty stingy creatures, but they have their place in the eco system just as we do!

Try not to take it personally, try being ultra analytical about it so you don't get overwhelmed by emotion.

take an oral anti-histamine or an antihistamine cream, that'll help the pain or swelling

being stung hurts like fuck, so you have my sympathy, but in an hour the pain will lessen

What I mean is, think about: how rarely it happens; that wasps are just crotchety at this time of year; that it will fade in a day or two; that you can stick some ice on it, and treat yourself to a strong drink/bar of chocolate/comfort treat of your choice.

I think try to talk to someone in real life about it and keep telling yourself that it's just an insect, it wasn't consciously trying to hurt you or make you feel any of that, it just flew over to you, by the sounds of it got stuck in your clothes, and panicked/stung.

Definitely talk to someone about it and just keep trying to reframe it in your head, it's just an insect, it's brain is the size of a poppy seed, it didn't have a clue what it was doing. Maybe get some bite cream or similar for the actual sting.

Get a piece of ice to help numb the pain.

It's horrible - I had my first wasp sting by stepping on one in the garden.

Try to remember it wasn't personal - it wasn't trying to attack you - it's rare and now it's basically over.

Deep breaths

If it’s any consolation OP I am literally the girl who kicked a hornets nest- I’d never been stung before, got 13 stings in one go including my eyelids!
Ice and/or aloe vera gel on the sting, an antihistamine and a nice cold Gin and you’ll be fine.
