Heat related: AIBU to not know what to eat?

Salad. That's all I've got. Quiche and salad, cold meat and salad, salad and salad?!

AIBU to ask you what you eat when it's too hot to cook? I refuse to turn the oven on, and even the gas hob is too much. The sun is full on our kitchen from 4 onwards, but even before that it's too hot in there.

We had tomato and burrata salad for lunch. So good. BBQ this eve but that bit of the garden is shady. I like to feel like I’m on holiday in this weather!

@thekingintheeast I just can't tolerate it at all. My kitchen is already 28 degrees, I've no intention of making it any hotter.

Bizarrely, I worked in a burger van catering last summer and somehow coped even when the thermometer was showing 40 degrees. I was being paid really well though, so that probably helped

I cook food almost daily

I wish I didn't eat when it's hot, but my appetite is the same as usual. Ravenous .

Threads like this make me laugh - and I mean this in the nicest possible way! I hate the heat (am Scottish and am Viking to the core - I’d be happy if it were winter all year) but I have no issues with cooking or eating when it’s hot!!

Good for you, but some of us struggle with it and/or have little appetite in the heat.

@araiwa your aircon is set to 28? I'm assuming you live abroad. My central heating doesn't even go over 25, and usually we have it set at 20.

I can't decide what to have for dinner tonight. I have, however, managed to decide to put a couple of beers in the freezer to be optimum temperature once the kids are in bed.

My lunch today was lentil and sweet potato dahl with rice, yum yum!

It's 36 degrees here, but to be fair we do have thick walls and outside blinds which help to keep the heat out a bit.

And OP send your asparagus my way. I could live off it! Don’t like veg grown under the ground (spuds, carrots, parsnips et ) but bloody love all green veg grown above!

Sadly I never have any issues eating whatever the weather ☺️ But I am home alone tonight and I never bother cooking for one so I will probably end up with cereal, an omelette if I really put the effort in 😆

Well we went to tesco and deliberated long and hard over all the nice chilled options. Ended up buying more salad, naice ham, a fancy quiche and some olives. Tomorrow will be wraps and salad
