I live in a terraced street where the majority of cars are forced to park two wheels on the road two wheels on the pavement so as not to obstruct traffic and access to those lucky residents with driveways. I also park like this and although it is not ideal I have a small car (mini) and the pavements are more than wide enough to fit a buggy/wheelchair/bicycle as well as the cars parked like this. I had a knock at the door on the weekend from the Police asking me not to park like this as a neighbour has complained I am blocking public accessibility, I did point out the other cars parked inline with me and the Policeman did say he would be knocking on some more doors however it was my vehicle that has been brought to his attention. I did as I was told and moved my car straight away and have been parking on the road since. Today I received a letter in the post asking me to pay a £30 fine for my parking... AIBU to give them a call to dispute this? I am just really confused because the Police officer didn't say anything about a fine at the weekend?
