To worry i will need to go to hospital

I have woken up with a really bad pain in my stomach which paracetamol and codeine haven’t eased. Last time this happened i was admitted for three days with queeried appendicitis. I have endo and the consultant thinks its probably that and has given me the option of more surgery with a planned appendix removal. Worried incase i am back in hospital either for this or surgery.

A family member of mine went from a bad side pain to a burst appendix within 5 hours, very sudden onset, the first symptom was pain uncontrollable by normal painkillers and a marked change in complexion - he started to go grey and then green. If you have already been assessed as a having possible appendicitis I would go in. When it has burst it is a very different level of seriousness. It can happen that fast, get seen to.

That sounds like gallstones.

If the pain is this bad you need to be seen and find out what it is.

Thanks i think it is most likely endo but want some painkillers to sleep. I will call 111 now.

With simmilar symptoms i was admitted in the past. The consultant thought i may have endometriosis on the appendix, which while painful and mimicing an appendicitis would not be harmful.

Hope you're doing ok OP. I had vomiting and diarrhoea when it was my appendix just so you know .

Surely if you have endo on your appendix and it mimics, having it removed will stop the mimicking and you will be more comfortable.

Hope you get this episode sorted quickly but meanwhile what is being done to sort out the endo and do you have a good consultant.
