Ok so Ive started a new job just about 4 months ago (still on my probation for the next 2 months) and I love the job itself. Good location, good hours, good company etc etc. My only concern is my direct line manager who is constantly off sick, on holiday or working from home (it can be their home, or anywhere in Europe but its still called "working from home") The thing is they are not contracted to be working from home! I know becauae I work with the director and we are a very small team. So when my manager is so called "working from home"(last month they worked 3 days in the office and the rest was holiday/emergency leaves/off sick/work from.home) and it puts a lot of pressure on me. When they are working from home I get emails/calls asking me to do their job which isnt any of my duties and I feel really annoyed lateley. They are on so much better money than me but I am the one doing everything while this person is on never ending holiday. Director is pissed off too but is very kind and probably too kind to fire this manager as they known each other for years. I am considering to properly complain when I pass my probabtion and maybe ask for extra money for doing extra work...? AIBU for hating people who constantly take piss.

I would do as you say. Stick it out for the next two months.
After that, respond with "I feel this is outside of my remit and not part of my job role. I am happy to sit with you and run through it when you are next in the office. I am busy with x, y and z currently."

When you have your probation review also mention you're doing things that aren't part of your job description. However you may find there's a caveat in your contract that basically says you have to do any task seen as reasonable by your manager.

If the director is aware I'd ask for them to be included in your probation review so your manager can't fob you off.

When they're WFH and you get the calls/emails, why are you not just directing them to call/email your boss?

I think the extra work and the fact that your boss WFH are different issues. Whether contracted or not, if their line manager is letting it happen that's between them. If your job isn't as described I would bring this up with your manager without bringing their WFH habits up. It might be that something you don't know is going on e.g. terminal illness, family tragedy and that the company are choosing to overlook it. Even if it's not, I don't think complaining about their location is the right thing to do. Present the issue and try and figure out a solution together.

@PooWillyBumBum the person WFH is their line manager and it's the line manager asking OP to do the line managers work
