So I’m posting for traffic really!

I’m completely out of ideas.
There’s me, DP, DS aged 4 DD 8 months. Ideally I want us to eat the same every night
We will all eat everything I’m not overly keen on fish but can have some.

So please inspire me !
I shop at Aldi and I’m really trying to keep costs down.
We eat pasta regularly but even running out of ideas on that !

Veggie soups , such as carrot and sweet potatoe, and stews.
LENTil based shepherds pie.
Grate carrot and cabbage to make a slaw with jacket potatoes and some cheese
omlettes or quiche
Potato and leek and whatever veggies baked in a cheese sauce
WOuld the children eat a mushroom and Creme sauce over rice?

YOu will need to adapt a bit around the baby ( I read 8 not 8 months)

It's worth spending money on spices. You can get big bags from Asian supermarkets which are very good value.

You can then spice up cheap basics like lentils, chick peas, vegetable dishes, etc. Don't add chilli for the children but other spices should be ok. A mixed veg curry or lentil goes a long way served with plain boiled rice and yogurt.

Jack Monroe's website would be a good starting point

Jack Munroe is your friend. All her recipes are free online and proper food that’s cheap ans easy to cook. Apart from the chickpea and peach curry. That’s vile.

Male everything from scratch if you don’t already. As a general rule, if you can make it in a pit it will be cheaper so things like soups, stews curries etc. Obviously don’t snack, snacking is quite expensive.

I made something nice and easy this week, it was just tortilla wraps with some tomato paste on, tiny bits of mozzarella torn up - you could have pepperoni on or something and put in the oven for 5 mins. They were really nice like little pizzas. I made salad to go with them.

You could also do thin strips of chicken with peppers and do Mexican wraps. Bulk out with cheese and lettuce.

We have chicken, rice and veg a lot. Or you could have rice and put prawns in plus veg.

You can make an easy curry with a paste and just a can of coconut milk, add something like a courgette and chicken.
