I panicked an blamed the baby...anyone else have embarrassing public stories?

Out shopping with DH and our beautiful baby girl (5months). I’m pushing the buggy in my own little world browsing at the clothes in the sale when suddenly I feel a slight ‘ache’ in the tummy.

I did not see anyone close by so therefore I let off a silent trump. Well...a few seconds later I realised it smelt quiet bad Blush and there was a group of women coming closer an closer to us. I wanted to fan it away but I knew that would be too obvious.

I therefore panicked an shouted to DH across the shop I need to “change the baby’s bottom” and made a swift exit.

I did look back an see the ladies waving their hands above their nose.

Super embarrassed. I wish I could’ve held it in but my stomach just wasn’t letting me.

Anyone else ever done something similar in public? It might make me feel slightly less embarrassed.

I let one go once in a library. There were 2 lads sat at the nearby computers and one said to the other "euurrrghhh, have you farted?!" I nearly died but I was killing myself laughing inside

My OH blames the cat - even when we are out the house or in another country Grin

I’ve trained my ds to blame the cat whenever he hears me let one go.

Yesterday in a shops changing room I farted, loudly, a long drawn out fart. As I left the cubicle, so did another woman from the next door cubicle, she had a grin on her face. I coolly walked off.

I haven't got a baby but have got a dog, who likewise gets blamed for farting. I even blamed her this week. I was a couple of hundred miles from home visiting family, the dog was at home with my husband. It's what dogs and babies are for.

I swear to god we have a farting troll problem.

But half of MN apparently find breaking wind hilarious, so it continues.

I was in Aldi and let a silent but deadly fart.I thought there was no one behind me.I turned around to this fella going a lovely shade of green.I left dp and ran out.

ahahaha creasing up at these stories!

if it makes you feel any better, i have blamed someone ELSES baby before!

Fuzzyfrogs03 · 23/07/2019 17:15

I inadvertently blamed somebody else's baby once and I felt awful about it. Shopping in the supermarket and let out a silent but deadly one.... just as a couple with a pram walked down the aisle. The mother huffs and picks up the baby and tells her husband that she is off to change her... I felt awful so said 'excuse me' and was about to take the blame when she did an about turn and told me to f* off and couldn't I see she was busy! I was so shocked I silently sloped away (hopefully taking the pungent smell with me) feeling guilty the little one was about to have her nappy changed for no reason but too scared to try to explain again!

SagAloojah · 23/07/2019 18:01

@Fuzzyfrogs03 come now, are you sure that happened? A mother knows her baby’s farts/poo smells, she would not mistake an adult fart for it.
