would this be a ridiculous request and a waste of their time?

I have started a diet/exercise/weight loss programme, but my home scales are not working properly so I'm waiting for new ones to be delivered. This means I don't have a "base line" (I started the regime two weeks ago)

I had a medical check-up a couple of months ago and was weighed then - would it be a ridiculous waste of the GP receptionist's time to ring up and ask them to look up what my weight was? And would they tell me over the phone anyway?

Best thing you can do is forget scale weight. Do resistance training and as long as you’re lifting more (weight and/or reps), you’re making progress. The bi-product of this is your body comp will change, but your weight may not change and may even go up!

Can you not weigh yourself on both the old and new scales and use that as your base line.

So for example you started at 14 stone exactly

You're now 13 stone 2lbs on the old scales

You're 13 stone 3.5lbs on the new scales

So it means your base line was 14 stone 1.5lbs
