that some mners seem to spend a lot of time and energy being shocked and horrified over the smallest thing. both seem to be over used expressions on here.

DontCallMeShitley · 19/07/2019 15:50

It is rediculous how many people are discusted on here.

It is VILE!

shieldmaidenofrohan · 19/07/2019 15:51

The collective noun for a group of Mumsnetters should be "a frothing of MNetters"

MrsGideon · 19/07/2019 15:52

DontCallMeShitley YES! Everything is always 'vile'. I don't think I've ever heard someone actually say that word in real life, only on MN!

MashedSpud · 19/07/2019 15:52

😱😮😧😵

karala · 19/07/2019 15:53

I am fooming

karala · 19/07/2019 15:53

and I feel sorry for your children

MikeUniformMike · 19/07/2019 15:56

I was literally gobsmacked

Namechangesareus · 19/07/2019 15:56

Sometimes I wonder how they cope in real life, unable to make a simple decision.
Or flabbergasted by things most people wouldn’t even notice or bat an eyelid at.

MissConductUS · 19/07/2019 15:56

I've been stuck by the number of people who are RAGING, which according to the dictionary means "showing violent uncontrollable anger.".

Anxiety seems rampant on MN too.

Yabbers · 19/07/2019 15:56

I feel the same way but I’m sure that just makes me sound like hard work.

Must go, my husband is about to go out for his hobby, and my DC need to be taken to the sport they have a team game with. I obviously can’t tell you what they are because that would be outing.

Yabbers · 19/07/2019 15:58

Anxiety seems rampant on MN too.

Especially among people who have been told by every person they are BU.

MikeUniformMike · 19/07/2019 15:58

I loathe the way everything is harsh.

MissConductUS · 19/07/2019 15:58

Perhaps all of the RAGING leads to the rampant anxiety for everyone else. Smile

GrouchoMrx · 19/07/2019 15:58

LTB

SuperSara · 19/07/2019 15:59

Oh dear, OP.

You're going to make people anxious.

I don't mean the genuine diagnosed condition of anxiety, of course, I mean those who say things like 'it triggered my anxiety' to mean they just didn't like something are are using it as a defence against people telling them to 'woman the fuck up' and get on with it.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 19/07/2019 16:03

Lots of shaking going on as well. I've only ever been "shaking" with anything when it's been cold.

WooMaWang · 19/07/2019 16:03

@Yabbers Yes. It’s important we don’t let anyone know about the cycling and football. Crucial, in fact.

In fact, I hope you name changed even to post that your DH has a hobby at all. It could be very outing that he does stuff.

Vilanelle · 19/07/2019 16:04

Mumsnetter: AIBU to be absolutely furious at this woman?

Everyone: YABU

Mumsnetter: I AM NOT BEING UNREASONABLE. YOU NEED TO HEAR THE MADE UP BACKSTORY THAT WILL MAKE YOU CHANGE YOUR MIND

gingersausage · 19/07/2019 16:09

What always amuses me is the number of people who’ll join in threads snarking on all the hyperbole.

If everyone is laughing at the people using these phrases, who is actually using the phrases...I’m tying myself in knots now but you know what I mean 😂.

YouJustDoYou · 19/07/2019 16:09

Another toddler was IN THE WAY of MY toddler at the bottom of the slide and DIDN"T IMMEDIATELY MOVE!!! I was HORRIFIED by their behaviour! (may have been said by a pp in a thread the other week). Oh, the horror! THE HORROR!
