to despise having to use heat styling tools in this weather!

Absolutely sweltering where I live. Been sweating like a pig all day. My hair really really needed a wash tonight and don’t think I could have gotten away with dry shampoo!

I have thick, naturally curly / frizzy hair that looks atrocious if I leave it to air dry. I’ve never been keen on my hairs natural look so I always blow dry and straighten it.

Stepped out of a cold shower this evening, ahh lovely. Then having to switch my hair dryer and GHDs on, immediately start sweating again. Face is sweating, hair everywhere, humid and hot in my room. Nightmare! Roll on winter I say!

I have wavy/frizzy hair and my go to hairstyle for hot weather is Dutch braids. So I'll shower in the morning and braid my hair, it's still wet so keeps me cooler all day. Then the next day its nicely wavy or I'll just shower again and braid again.

Just about to put the hair dryer on my hair and feeling sweaty and rank just at the thought -

MorganKitten · 17/07/2019 21:41

You don’t have to - you feel you need to. Mine I leave or braid in this heat. Mine will vary between straight, wavey etc.

Treaclepie19 · 17/07/2019 21:44

I feel the same! I just leave mine natural and deal with looking ridiculous 😂

@SprogletsMum how on earth do you do that yourself?! I'm so bad at hair 🙈

MissShapesMissStakes · 17/07/2019 21:46

I used to do this. Hairdryer and then straighteners. But now I’ve started leaving it to dry. It looks ridiculous. Like the characters on Pigeon Street with massive triangular sticking out hair.
But once it’s dry I just stick it in a pony tail. I might straighten the top bit to make it smoother on the top of my head, and I pull a few bits down and straighten those. Only takes five mins.

I wash mine with luke warm water, only use a tiny bit of conditioner after shampoo, and then partially dry it with a T shirt - but then if I'm too hot tie it back (in different ways) so it dries like that. So the next day I can let it down (if I've done a style that will look good) or undo it then re-tie it up. I seriously wouldn't want to be using hair straighteners when it's hot inside and I can't use hair driers because of a severe dry eye issue so have had to learn alternatives to it (actually worse in winter to be honest with you. I dreaded cold winter mornings with wet hair in a coat).

I have naturally curly hair and I just stick some frizz ease secret agent cream on my wet hair (it says to use on dry hair but works well on wet) and let it air dry, then tie it up in a messy bun/ponytail. No frizz at all and zero hassle!
